Blood Borne Pathogens: Preventing Disease TransmissionBloodborne pathogens are microorganisms in the blood or other body fluids that can cause illness and disease in people. These microorganisms can be transmitted through contact with contaminated blood and body fluids. The following is a list of occupations with likely exposure:
This class educates employees on how diseases are transmitted. Additionally, employees will learn how to recognize, report, and follow up on exposures within the workplace. It will also enlighten workers on how to reduce the chances of contracting such infections as HIV, HBV, HCV, and other commonly recognized pathogens including West Nile Virus, Syphilis and Malaria.
Injury Prevention SeminarsThese modules are designed to make employees more aware of taking safety precautions on the job. Have your participants bring their lunch while one of the following topics is taught:

Epi PenFor many people who suffer from severe allergic reactions the reaction can cause anaphylactic shock, a life threatening situation. An Epi Pen can make the difference between life and death. An Epi Pen is an auto injector pre loaded with the drug epinephrine or an antihistamine. Quick and proper administration of the Epi Pen counteracts the anaphylactic reaction.
